Purpose Driven Messaging is a StoryBrand messaging consultancy operated by Josh Hull, doing business as The Purpose Driven Co., located in Tennessee. In this policy, "we," "us" and "our" mean Purpose Driven Messaging. "You" means anyone who visits purposedrivenmessaging.com, fills out a form on it, books a call with us, downloads one of our free resources, registers for a workshop, or becomes a client.
This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what choices you have. It applies to our website and to the marketing and client communications that follow from it.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information such as government identification numbers, financial account numbers, health information, biometric data, or information about race, religion, sexual orientation or political beliefs. Please do not send us that information.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own cross-context behavioral advertising.
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to you, we rely on the following legal bases:
We share information with the companies that run our business systems. Each of them processes information on our behalf and under contract. The main ones are:
We also share information with contractors and assistants who help run our marketing and operations, and who are required to keep it confidential.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, if we need to respond to a legal process, if we need to protect our rights or someone's safety, or in connection with a merger, sale or transfer of our business.
Email. When you give us your email address through a form on our website, you are agreeing to receive marketing email from us as well as the resource you asked for. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Unsubscribing stops marketing email. It does not stop email about work we are actively doing for you.
Text messages. We send text messages only to people who have separately agreed to receive them. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them, or HELP for help. We do not share your phone number with third parties for their marketing, and consent to receive text messages is never a condition of buying anything from us.
Our mailing address appears in every marketing email, as required by the CAN-SPAM Act.
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the site and its forms to work. Others help us understand which pages people read and which marketing brought them here.
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies in their settings. If you block cookies, parts of the site, including forms and booking, may stop working correctly.
We do not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals, because there is no common standard for them. We do honor Global Privacy Control signals where the law requires us to.
We keep information for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it, and then for as long as the law requires. In practice that means:
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information, including access controls, encrypted connections and reputable vendors. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:
We extend these rights to everyone who contacts us, whether or not your state's law requires it. Residents of Tennessee, California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana and other states with comprehensive privacy laws are covered.
How to make a request. Email [email protected] with the subject line "Privacy Request" and tell us what you want. We will confirm your identity before acting, and we will respond within 45 days. If we need more time we will tell you why.
If we say no. You may appeal by replying to our response with the word "Appeal." We will review it and give you a written answer within 60 days. If we deny your appeal, you may contact the attorney general in your state.
Authorized agents. You may use an authorized agent to make a request. We will ask for proof that you gave them permission.
In the previous twelve months we have collected the following categories of personal information, as the CCPA defines them: identifiers, commercial information, internet or network activity, professional or employment information, and audio or visual information when calls or workshops are recorded. We collect them from the sources and use them for the purposes described above.
We have not sold personal information, and we have not shared personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, in the previous twelve months. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under sixteen.
We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes beyond those permitted without a right to limit.
We operate in the United States and our service providers are located there. If you use our website or contact us from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may be different from your own. Where required, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard for those transfers.
If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Our website and services are for businesses and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under thirteen. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Our website links to other websites, including StoryBrand, Zoom, Google Drive and social media. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. Read their policies before giving them information.
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. If the change is significant, we will tell you by email or with a notice on the website. Continuing to use the website after a change means you accept the updated policy.
